Once again, the Dudson Group was delighted to sponsor the Manager of the Year Award at the Cateys on July 5th.
This year's recipient at a glittering industry event held at Grosvenor House, London, was David Morgan-Hewitt, from the Goring Hotel. David, who has been Managing Director of the Goring for the last five years, was presented with his award by Katie Dudson, Marketing Manager of Dudson Ltd.
Nominated for his commitment and hard work during a 19 year career at the Goring, David's insight and ability to preserve the tradition of this family owned establishment, whilst innovating for the future has resulted in the transformation of a four star hotel into the prestigious five star landmark it has become. The Goring is held in the highest regard by the hospitality industry as well as its guests, and has won many accolades, including the Cateys 'Hotel of the Year - Independent' last year and Best British Dining Room at the ITV Carlton Awards.
Beginning his career at the Goring as restaurant manager, David has worked his way up, perfecting his hospitality skills and building an exceptional team around him on the way. He has always believed in keeping things simple, "… learning how to provide the very best and then finding a way to do it" is his mantra. His dedication in providing the best environment and service for hotel guests has been an inspiration to his staff and his commitment doesn't end there. Naming just a few of the many good causes David supports, he works with the National Skills Academy, Springboard and the Passage (helping the homeless in Victoria, London).
The judges felt that David is an inspirational figure who tirelessly demonstrates his commitment to the hospitality industry, and he is therefore a well-deserving winner of this award.
