Collection of ten items for the NHS contractNHS contract awarded to Dudson
An 18-month deal to supply ceramic tableware to the NHS has recently been awarded to Dudson Ltd.
As the company takes an active interest in sustainability issues and local product sourcing, winning the contract was especially satisfying because the Dudson product is replacing one outsourced from the Far East.
Mr. Max Dudson, Chief Executive Officer, commented "It is pleasing because we had the contract before and we were really disappointed to lose it to the Far East. We won the contract back through a mixture of product performance, quality and the logistical advantages of having a local service."
Production has already started on the ten item collection, which is protected by one of the most durable and energy efficient glazes available within the industry. ThermECO, a high performance glaze from Endeka Ceramics Ltd., enables firing at a lower temperature for reduced energy consumption, one of the main aims of the Dudson Environmental Policy.
The contract has also been a welcome boost to the local economy, observed Mr. Dudson, "From a Stoke-on-Trent point of view it is good news to see production coming back to the city. That's a reassuring sign for all manufacturers in the area."
