Dudson is committed to encouraging talented individuals
to join the ceramic industry by contributing experience and
expertise to develop educational programmes.
The national Diploma in Manufacturing and Product Design launch was hosted by the company at the Tunstall production plant, demonstrating a strong commitment to the workforce of the future. Recent projects have included working with the students on a mug design project; mugs later to be sold by the Regent Theatre.
Our work with local schools and colleges was recognised by the presentation of The Employer Engagement Award 2009/10, one of the Staffordshire Business and Education Awards, sponsored by the Staffordshire Partnership. The awards recognise the contribution made by local employers to the curriculum, and in particular, the new Diplomas.
The company provides invaluable work experience for students from
Staffordshire University through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership
agreement, helping us to improve processes, competitiveness,
productivity and performance.
To promote careers within the ceramic industry, local primary and secondary school students are encouraged to tour the factory to learn about cutting edge manufacturing technology and techniques.
